The subject of death in the lyric by Holman Quinn is rare among Tours’ songs. By concealing the tragedy of a young lover’s death within the poetic conceit of the protagonist’s dream, Quinn justifies the intensely passionate emotional narrative of the song more than a song simply about love and loss would.
